| Been running some tests. On this forum, I come here with a secure browser, when I go to reply, my security is turned off. I also have fingerprinting protection and that gets turned off as well. Can you provide an explanation as to why this happens only on this particular forum? |
|
I have no idea why that would happen. I don't even know how to cause that to happen so it is certainly not anything that I am doing.

As a software professional myself, I think this answer is disingenuous. You and I both know scripts can be written that defeat both but it’s very controversial (at best) to do so |
Actually, browsers -- especially so-called "secure browsers" -- should never let an external script change settings. I am not ruling out that it is possible, but I am saying that I don't know how to do it and have not done anything to cause it to happen. |
| How is it then, that some people are allowed to post words that others are banned from posting? I see posts with people using particular words, and the reply to that post has to physically manipulate those same words to get the reply to go through? |
Maybe the other posters are not deranged lunatics? |
Words such as…? |
Are you replying to an old post? |
Are you saying you can block certain people from using words you don’t like? |
No, I am saying that people who are not deranged lunatics don't think that I am manipulating their browsers. |
Then I’m sure there’s a simple explanation for why I see posts that have words that have to use special characters in order not to be blocked when the post they replied to can use those words without special characters? I’m truly puzzled when I see that happening. It takes much more effort to use special characters. |
New poster. First of all, no it doesn't take additional effort. Second, don't believe all that you read. Perhaps other posters were blocked for different reasons than the one they think. Others use special characters for words even though the actual word might not cause their posts to be blocked, because they're not sure which ones are allowed. Third, what is the relation between banned words and a spy software that could change your browser settings? |
| Just because someone types a$$hole or something like that doesn’t mean the word asshole is actually banned. |
+1 Which words, OP? My money is on something dumb & MAGAy. |
Maybe they’re pushing the horse paste? |
