For everyone raising special needs children under 5!

I'm the Family Support Coordinator for Mont. Co.'s Infants and Toddlers program and I want to let you all know that we have a new family website/discussion group up and running, MCITPfamiliestalk. The web address is: http://groups.google.com/group/mcitpfamiliestalk

It's a place for families to ask questions and make friends, access an up-to-date bulletin board of local events, and find out about local resources, read new articles and find new websites. The website is only 6 weeks old, but we already have a wonderful group of families participating. MCITPfamiliestalk is open to all families raising young children with disabilities--it's not disability specific. So, please drop by and check it out!

Hope to see you there soon!

Amy,

What a wonderful idea! My son "graduated" from the ITP a couple of years ago (many thanks to our special educator Linda Baker!!) and I would have loved to have had a resource like this at the time.

You can always join us now, even if your child is older. I have a child with autism who is six and another who is almost five, so I am keeping eyes out for resources for older children too. Plus, veteran Infants and Toddlers moms are great sources of hope and inspiration to the younger parents--especially when it comes to transitioning out of the program, etc.

So, please consider this an invitation--and thanks for the words of encouragement. I have a lot of hope that this will grow into something really meaningful for a lot of families.

Best,
Amy K.
