Morning glory

I am absolutely obsessed with Thai style stir fried morning glory. What is the official name/species of the morning glory plant? Is it the same as water spinach? Can you grow it yourself easily? One of my most favorite Thai foods. I am saliavting just thinking about eating it with a simple bowl of white rice right now. Any stores sell it if you can't grow it?

It is also called kangkung. My favorite vegetable. But it is illegal in the US. They worry about it becoming an invasive species.

Actually I guess it is only illegal in some states, like Florida, but not others, like texas. This is water morning glory, aka water spinach, aka ong choi.
