| I’m 13 weeks tomorrow and some apps say 13 weeks is second trimester and some say 14 weeks! My OB said technically it’s like 13 weeks 5 days so they just consider it 14 weeks but curious what others have considered the start of the second trimester? |
| Whatever the OB says it is. Certainly not what baby center says… |
| Never thought about it that deeply. |
| 14 weeks (ie after the completion of 13 weeks) |
|
10 years ago it was 12 weeks, they now say 14 weeks.
I recently learned that 12-15 weeks requires a D&C whereas 15+ is a D&E because of the complicated nature of the procedure. Hopefully you never learn this same information. |
Op here: I’m thinking about it as everyone tells me second trimester is game changing. I’m hoping my nausea, awful smells and insane food aversions get better. But thanks for your wonderful comment! |
Why would you even comment this ? |
Because I'm grieving and get the procedure on Monday. So fun. |
NP here. For me second trimester WAS a game changer for both my pregnancies, but more like 16 weeks, not 12. It gets better every week. |
There are very few things in human physiology that are an on/off switch. Likely will bleed over into 2nd trimester. |
Ok but not the thread. Make another one. |
| 18 weeks here. Most of my nausea has disappeared and so has the insane tiredness but my food aversions have gotten worse. I’m pretty much vegetarian now. I just can’t look at or eat meat except maybe in pasta sauce or something. |
| 14 weeks is the beginning of the first trimester. |
Yup, same! I usually only eat chicken for meat but since 8 weeks, I can’t even look at it. |
| Took me to around 15/16 weeks to notice I was feeling better op |
