I thanked them in person or sent them a message if I didn’t see them but I wanted to let you know how awesome your teenagers are. So many asked me about my plans for the holidays this week, wished me a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, good vacation etc. The hand written cards meant so much. It meant just as much when they nervously came up to give me a bag of cookies they baked, apologizing that they didn’t ask ahead of time if I had allergies. Or the ones who didn’t want to say anything but I found a card with a nice note left on my chair after they left. You are raising your kids to be really great people and I love working with them. They are so kind and thoughtful. I have the best students this year.
Please remember to give them a break these next two weeks and let them relax. They really are working hard in class. When they are grumpy or snap at home, remember they most likely are not like that in class or with other adults. I have teens of my own and I’ll try to take my own advice. ![]() |
What a nice post, and thank YOU for all your hard work as a teacher! Have a restful holiday break. |
This is really sweet, OP.
Enjoy the break, you deserve it! |
Love this. I am so grateful for teachers. I helped with a fifth grade holiday party and almost lost my mind! |
Have a greart well-earmed break, OP! It sounds like your students appreciate you -- thanks for being there for them. |
I feel you OP. My students are in the pre-writing stage and it made my day to see their cards. I am so appreciative of the joy they bring into my life. |
I love this, thank you! My spouse and parents are all teachers and they have the sentiments toward students and parents. It’s shocking to talk to them and then see the toxicity on these forums. Though, I think there are toxic teachers too but most of them are hardworking, doing their best and not on board with all these arbitrary closings and quarantines. |
This made me tear up. Thank you so much for posting this. My kids are so shy about giving their teachers notes of appreciation but I think it’s so important and it’s so nice to hear that it is appreciated. |
Thanks OP. This is so cheering to read and I'm grateful for all you do for teens. Have a great winter break. |
Hear hear! The APS teachers and counselors my DS has are working their tails off. We may never know how much work they’re putting in just so our kids get some semblance of normal school during the pandemic. Thank you!! |
