If Trump had a 2nd term in office, would the US vaccination profile look any different?

Anonymous
Would more right leaning anti-vaxxer have gotten vaccinated? Would fewer left leaning Americans have gotten vaxxed? Would the numbers look the same regardless?

Anonymous
I refuse to even imagine that scenario

That administration was a bumbling battalion of buffoons.
Even if you had wanted a shot, you’d have been waiting another 6 months to get it.
Yeah, the vaccination rate would look different, because there wouldn’t have been a roll out.

No, a lot of MAGAs wouldn't take it even if Trump won 2020. He told them at a convention to get it, and they booed it.

It would be worst. I imagine doctors would be arrested for giving vaccines.

They had no infrastructure or plan to distribute the vaccines.

The wealthy and connected would have been prioritized.

Everyone else - the masses - would have had to fight for it and otherwise keep their heads low to try to stay healthy.

This is the same thing they want for the environment. They don't care if people get sick or are forced to drink unhealthy water. The wealthy can insulate themselves from anything while the masses live in a dystopian hellscape.

This is just a crap response. There were nearly a million shots a day going out just after the vaccine had been approved. It would have only ramped up faster under Trump.

What I do believe the Trump administration would have been better at - ensuring that people had very easy access to tests and more access and faster approval of therapeutics.

The Biden administration has all but ignored therapeutics and their only strategy has been vaccination and mandates.

And, if you want to know why so many may be vaccine hesitant...... here's a clue......
Perhaps these folks should have thought about their words before they said them....

OP here - I agree that they likely would’ve struggled to set up the rollout infrastructure. I also think some number of extremely rabid antiTrump folks would not have trusted the vaccines. How many? I don’t know.

There would be fewer vaccinated and more dead. No debating that.

You are kidding, right? We could have had tests as early as March/April 2020 and they ignored it. They also could have used the WHO protocol in February 202, and ignored that. So I laugh at this assertion.

When Biden came in, the quickest route to normalcy was vaccines. We would have been there but for FreEduMb.

+1 Timely thread, OP. The House subcommittee on coronavirus just released a report showing that the Trump administration politicized the crisis the entire time.

You'll develop like a 'herd mentality.’
It's going to be herd-developed.
That’s going to happen,
That will all happen.

Just so you understand.

it would be worse now. a Trump administration now would be out in full force to minimize the problems, Fauci would be out, Trump would have at the various agencies (CDC FDA) some of his super loyalists like the California doctor who was an eye doctor i think with no experience whatsoever in public health and infectious diseases who was called to the White House when Fauci was sidelined. no mandates, we fight for freedom, this is not that bad, it's china's fault, FoxNews hosts in full propaganda mode. he would probably have focused on an outside threat, started a war somewhere, or double down on war on immigrants with troops patrolling the border and arresting Hispanic looking people on TV and "fighting the invasion" and so on.

so it would have been worse on so many levels.
