Holy Cow!

The price of beef! I knew the prices had increased due to inflation but OMG. I went to the butcher yesterday to pre-order beef tenderloin for Christmas. It was $55/lb! So now need to rethink my menu.

Have you run into this same pricing? Are you serving something other than beef for Christmas?

I see what you did there.

$22.99/ lb of the good beef tenderloin. (Peeled & Vacuum packed) I feel like I paid $20.99 last year - so no big increase.

OP here - thank you! I'll head to Costco today. I also heard Trader Joe's has some possible options.

I remember paying over $40 pound at Christmas years ago at balducci’s, so this isn’t surprising to me. We only do beef tenderloin when it’s just the four of us so we’re only getting a pound or two of filet. If you’re getting a big one, go Costco definitely.

Is this why my Whole Foods only had a tiny slices of filet mignon? I need a long piece for my beef Wellington.
