So excited!!! This will make getting around the southern Rock Creek Park detours so much more pleasant

Will there be no more street parking on Connecticut?

This may cut the likelihood maryland drivers mow down cyclists by like 30%. Hopefully people will stop using conn ave as a freeway and the metro will get their act together. Would love robust bus lanes with busses every 4 minutes on conn ave instead.

I am mainly excited that they are getting rid of that stupid extra lane. That lane is so dangerous!!!!!!!

Very good news. Those alternating lanes were a death trap. I actually don't care that much about cyclists (happy for them, obviously), but more about the elimination of that horrible stupid lane.

Terrible. Prefer the alternating lanes. Traffic is already a mess without them.

Even assuming that the primary purpose of Connecticut Avenue is to keep cars flowing without backups (which it isn't) - traffic is a mess WITH the alternating lanes. Car crashes do not help keep cars flowing without backups.

Anyone who thinks eliminating the rush hour traffic pattern will cut accidents on Conn Ave hasn't driven that route lately.

Hope sense prevails and they reopen Beach Drive - if there are bike lanes on Conn, why preserve an alternate route solely for bikes?

The outcome here will be more WFH (and more catastrophic impact on downtown businesses and office space) and more neighborhood cut-throughs by commuters. Enjoy!

When cyclist are on the roads are they required to follow the laws of motorists? If there is a stop light do they need to stop for the light or are they permitted to ride without stopping?

Makes no sense to me. It's already so hard to find parking to patronize the businesses on Connecticut Ave and I think these bike lanes will be barely used, just like the ones downtown.

They're paving the zoo into a giant parking garage.

Agree the reversible lanes were a death trap. Get rid of em

But going from the 4 lanes to 3 lanes to now just 2 to add the bike lanes will be interesting. Hope they have the left turns and truck double-parking figured out!

look forward to all the Maryland drivers cutting thru the back streets during rush hour while kids are walking to school

I can see hiking south on Conn, but al the way up? No way - those are going to be wasted bike lanes.

And when will they get serious about enforcing the loading zones? So tired of them being ignored and trucks double parking.
