| Didn't they stop being a news magazine years and years ago? I remember it being on the news stand with Time back when I was a kid and doing current events assignments. I don't think I've seen it as an actual magazine as an adult. |

This is something that I think people really don't appreciate enough. If you think suburban wine moms in Westchester and Marin County and Fairfax are overly obsessive about the US News rankings, you should spend some time with professors and administrators at any of the top 50-or-so universities in the country. |

When I was in middle school, US News was a weekly magazine just like Time used to be.
Haven't they shifted completely to just ranking things? Do they even print a news magazine anymore? |

I check out USN & World Report and NICHE for initial reference as well as a few other major specific references.
Then go into more in depth research for each college |

The newsweeklies haven’t been a factor for news in 30 years.
Time is the exception. Newsweek sold out to right-wing loons years ago. It’s just a nameplate now masquerading as its former self. US News and World Report just does rankings. And even those don’t have any real impact. |
