Circumcision For A 7 Year Old?

I'm thinking about getting my son circumcised and wanted to know if anyone had an older child circumcised? Will it hurt badly afterwards? Or should I wait until he is older? I want him circumcised because he had an infection and I cant see penis even if I pull the skin back.

I did not do this personally but have a few friends who did. If my memory serves me correctly, the kids ranged from ages 4 to 11. My friends relayed that it was quite painful for several days and required pain medication for those days.

I believe it is pretty serious to do to a child that age (although even moreso post-puberty).

I think you need to talk to a urologist.

We have an appointment with a urologist on the 11th.

OP Thank You all for your comments. We did get the procedure done Friday and DS is feeling well, up and active. He has Tylenol 3 to take but hasn't had pain since Saturday. I thought the recovery would be more difficult but thankfully it isn't.

I know a family that had a toddler with tight foreskin problems. They wanted to avoit circumcising and went the alternative treatement route.
They were happy. And they thought it was quiet funny that their kdis doctor was jewish
