Rodmans?
Anywhere else? |
| Heidelberg |
| Ooh, I would like to know too. I had one a few years ago and loved it (but it wasn’t from around here, someone gave it to me). I hope to try Heidelberg. |
| They never seem to have a great texture to me. What is a good stollen supposed to taste like? |

+1 lived in Germany don’t think there’s such a thing as good stollen personally. Ah well. |
| At the Holiday Market just outside Gallery Place metro station there is a vendor tent of German delicacies. I’ll bet that’s a good source. (There are some really good vendors — I found a guy who makes common tools and house components out of chocolate, amazing (I got a chocolate hose Bibb and gate valve) |

+1 I think this is a traditional food that doesn't translate to today, like fruitcake. But my mom loves the ones from World Market. |
| Soring Mill Bakery makes a classic Stollen, and it's delicious. |
+1 if you mean Heidelberg bakery in Arlington |
| Haven’t been able to here…my MIL normally sends them from Germany (I know, that does you no good😉). |
|
Rodman’s. Look for the one that comes from a bakery in Dresden.
Stollen is not supposed to be like a soft American style cake. It is more of a sweet bread that can last for a while. |
+2 never liked them even the ones from Germany prob b.c I grew up eating insanely sweet American stuff like cinnamon rolls |
