Please recommend a bread box.

My husband has a big birthday coming up and he LOVES good bread. I'd like to get him a really nice bread box as a gift, but I've never shopped for something like this before. What is the best material (metal? wood? bamboo?), and how long will the bread stay fresh/not get moldy inside?

I got one similar to this as a wedding gift nearly 15 years ago and still love it. They have some other ones on their site that I’m sure would work well also.
