Refrigerator -- top freezer or bottom freezer?

Looking to potentially replace a refrigerator. Only ever had a top freezer. Have you had both? Pros/cons?

Side-by-side won't work -- we don't have the space.

Would you rather reach down for your veggies or your ice cream?

Bottom freezer has more space in the freezer. Pull-out drawer more convenient too.

Bottom is much much more expensive for the same size unit. The extra expense did not seem worth it to me.

Bottom freezer.

Easier to organize and see what you have in the refrigerator, which is what you will access most frequently.

Refrigerator is at eye level so you don't have to constantly bend down to see what is inside or get what you need.

This is the only correct answer.

I hate my pull out bottom freezer. Maybe it's just the model I have, but it's heavy and I feel like it doesn't pull out far enough for me to easily reach things.I wouldn't buy a bottom freezer again.

I've had both. Bottom freezers are more modern and visually appealing. However, I need more upper arm strain to pull the drawer out. I like the idea/look better than the reality.

I totally agree with this as well.

I’ve had all kinds. My favorite is definitely the bottom freezer. Mine pulls out all the way, and has a handy drawer in it that helps keeps things organized.

My current fridge also has one of those middle drawers which I love. I keep stuff for the kids lunches in there - lunch meat, cheese, juice boxes, etc. Works really well for us.

I am much happier with a shallow shelf on the top with small condiment jars than having frozen bags of veggies and leftovers cascade out on my head. The bottom drawer is just much easier to sort through.

Bottom. But I also rarely use the freezer.

Bottom freezer all the way. Just make sure that you get a bottom drawer and not a bottom door as I once did. I didn’t know that was even a possibility so I didn’t check. (Seriously, who makes a bottom door? Why?)

I got a two drawer bottom freezer with French doors on top. Love it! Made by LG. Easy to keep things organized.
