And it is Electric.

The Rivian.

Times are changing.

Well, Nissan has had plenty of time to iron out EV drive trains and battery tech with the Leaf, which has been around for quite a while now. It would be logical to apply the same mature tech to a compact pick-up platform, scaled-up appropriately for the design.

I think it’s a very promising design.

I’ve wondered for several years now why Toyota hasn’t put the very good hybrid system from the Camry and Highlander into the Tacoma and 4Runner platforms.

I mean, FFS, you can get a plug in hybrid Jeep Wrangler now. WTH is Toyota waiting on?

Oh, that's so shocking, so progressive, so with-it!

Point is lost on you.

Rivian won't exist in 2 years. It's not new Tesla, but more like Karma. Remember Karma, no? Exactly...

They already have a ton of corporate sales lined up. Karma was trying to make a luxury car and ended up basically hand building them for a loss. Rivian uses a sled design that is massively customizable.

Well did you buy one?

I don’t understand your post.

Can you explain it to me as though I were a 5 year old? Use small words if you need to. But help me understand what you were trying to convey, because I didn’t get it.

No, it's because you have to be all new to even be eligible and pickup trucks aren't all new every year. So the way it's rigged, literally every auto maker can win it when they redesign on their 4 to 6 year redesign cycle, ex. Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra, Ford F-150, (Dodge) RAM 1500, Rivian, Toyota Tundra.

I'm pretty sure the only realistic new truck it was competing with for this award this year was the new electric Hummer? But the Hummer is pretty niche at $100,000.
