Hello. Can someone suggest a brand? I tried Amazon but all of the items with lots of stars had reviews with images of the blankets in tatters after a few weeks. This is a gift so I'd like to be nice and last. What price should I expect to pay for a good blanket? The Amazon ones seem to top out at $125 or so. |
Costco has great blankets |
Idk if this is the right style but these are great. Comfy and thick. West elm sells them too.

If you want to splurge, my husband got me one of these a decade or so ago for Christmas and it's wonderful:
https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod19070143&sale=false It's the one I don't allow the rest of the family to use. Soft and so warm. |
I hate polyester fleece or faux fur throws - they get so much static. It's really hard to find something else that's acceptably soft, though, unless you splurge on cashmere ![]() |
Check out the Avoca mohair ones.
They're super warm and good quality (but caveat that I find mohair a bit itchy). |
Williams Sonoma has a bunch. |
Have not looked at other's links but I have been pining after a Pendleton throw blanket for years. They are glorious and expensive and something of an iconic brand -- it would make a really nice gift (especially if I am secretly the recipient!). |
Like this one is a classic: https://www.backcountry.com/pendleton-plaid-5th-ave-throw |
What is your budget? I got some great cashmere and merino wool blankets from H&M but it seems that they don't make them anymore. I also love the Garnet Hill quality. Look for silk and cashmere.

Brahms Mount
https://brahmsmount.com/ The cotton alpaca ones are amazing. They are about $450 though. Serena & Lily and other high end stores used to sell them/currently sell them but you can also buy direct. |
