Hi, what is the weekly cost of a higher-rated daycare center infant care in Bethesda? I know, some say there is no quality care in daycare centers, so please just share any info you may have about current costs and pls do not rub it in about the quality. Some of us have no other choice and we don't want to be made feel bad. |
Sorry it's been a few years so I don't trust my info but I think Wonders and Children in the Shoe are two solid, quality options so you might try calling them?

We used to use Rock Spring. They will tell you tuition prices with them as well as at the others. Just email or call. Price declines as the child ages. Infants are probably at $2,500 or more per month now. |
Children in the Shoe was around $2500-$2600 last year when I called them. It was too expensive for us but they seemed like a great place. |
Former BCC Shoe parent - infant was around $2500 when we left in 2020 (we left unrelated to pandemic). They were great but too expensive for us, and costs had risen significantly during our time there. |
OP just know that highly rated doesn’t always mean a lot. Just look at the school discussions on here. Visit a few different places and see what you think. But you are probably looking at $1200-$2500 a month. ( in home daycare is less expensive generally) |
In home is generally less expensive because they don't have to follow NAEYC guidelines in terms of amount of space, required education for caregivers, ratio of caregivers to infants/toddlers, etc. Agree it is outrageously expensive and has been for a long time. When we had 2 in day care, we were paying more to the day care on a monthly basis than we were to the bank for our mortgage! And, it is a very short time. Agree it is probably $2600 or more at the quality, NSEYC centers, and if you can afford it, do it. Totally worth it! |
