Ok to ask nanny to help wrap Xmas gift?

Anonymous
We have a nanny for 2 kids, 6 and 9. She grocery shops while kids are in school etc. She likes to decorate and plan parties so we often ask that and I am grateful; no skills in those areas. It is ok to ask for help wrapping Xmas gifts for the kids right? And not ok for help wrapping my husband’s?

I wouldn’t ask a nanny to wrap gifts. You can’t wrap gifts for your family, OP? Really?

I wouldn’t. It’s not in the job description.

No. It is rude.

Odd, but I would do it.
Anonymous
Absolutely not. Completely outside her job requirements

No!

No.

Oh my goodness, OP. No, it's not okay. You can manage to wrap the gifts on your own, you'll be okay.

And I hope you're giving her an amazing holiday bonus.

Ok, got it, thanks. Glad I asked, she gets gifts For kids’ bday parties and wraps them often, but see this is different. Yes, giving an excellent holiday bonus, as ever. Nanny has worked for us for 6 years and is phenomenal and it is ever so much appreciated.
For those we said I can wrap gifts myself, yes I can but first,I am left handed and very uncoordinated so it never looks good and second, doesn’t it take you a few hours or so to wrap ~20 gifts and make them look nice? I can do most things but not everything so I try to ask for help. And with 2 kids and a time intensive job as a medical researcher I am always so grateful when something is taken off my plate.

If you’re that wrap-challenged, why don’t you buy things at places that have wrapping services? All department stores do this.

What year are you living in where people shop at department stores and they still offer gift wrap? Department stores don’t even have toys anymore.

Feels like asking your plumber who is working on a pipe under the sink to just do the dishes piled in the sink while he's there

Why not ask your spouse?
