Homeland Security - Mass Ave No Left Turn not Enforced

Anonymous
Am I the only one who is surprised by the fact that DC Police do not bother to ticket the daily line of cars on Mass Ave making illegal left turns into Homeland Security? Is this professional courtesy to fellow law enforcement types?

As you might expect, most of the license plates are Virginia plates.

This is pretty annoying and creates some dangerous situations when cars try to avoid the drivers making illegal left turns.

Same issue too on Nebraska Ave westbound. They illegally cross the double line and stop in the middle of the road.

They can’t leave for Anacostia soon enough,

Interesting.

I suppose DC Police will just ignore their employee violations until then.

Just like all other violations. It's been this way for at least 20 years. MPD does not care.

I went by there today and could not believe how prominent the No Left Turn signs were. Literally there was one which would be directly in front of you as you try to turn left.

A line of cars ignored these signs with no repercussions.

Considering your police illegally sold $800K worth of whiskey, I don't think they're very good cops, OP.

It's a pretty empty complex, they've sold it to a developer. Expect a mixed use develop there in 3-5 years.

That could be pretty good real estate.

Strangely, there have not been cars lining up to make that left turn for the last few days, after this thread started.

Do you think someone at DHS reads DCUM and saw thread?

There were no illegal turners again today. Maybe DHS leadership has addressed.

Makes sense if they did, as "above the law" stuff is bad PR for agency, especially since the buzz phrase of era is no one is .....

Someone was trying to left turn yesterday on the Nebraska Ave entrance. She didn't seem to give AF that she was blocking traffic.

The same on Mass Ave today. Guy with Virginia plates. He didn't care that there were nine cars stuck waiting behind him while he waited to.make his illegal turn.
