How does it show? Serious question. Not trolling.

It shows by its existence as a girls only league. Its focus is on girls soccer. You can read all about it on their website.

With the moves in northern Virginia being made for MLS next participation? The big selling point for these clubs, MLSnext for their boys.

ECNL gitls and boys have different staffs, boards, everything. It is also a girls only league in Ecnl girls. Duh.

ECNL plan needs US soccer approval. We will know it after the meeting next week. Nobody will disclose it.

I posted this a few weeks ago. DOC/coach at my daughter’s club said ECNL wants clubs to be allowed to use Q3/4 players starting next year. With showcases being based off new cutoffs or even just grad year cut offs.
But US Soccer needs to agree with their plan.

If the plan is not approved they won’t try to change anything and it will all stay BY for an additional year.

MLS has biobanding, allowing three players to play down for many years without issue. GA might offer that option too if they stay in BY.

ECNL already put the trap players in the 8th grade to play the league games.

1…they already “can use Q3/Q4 players….

2…that is a dumb plan

Missouri Rush
Westside Alliance

ECNL-B:
- Added new conference (Far West), promoted an entire ECRL conference to ECNL
- Promoted ECRL clubs
Doral SC
Highland FC
Kansas Rush
Missouri Rush
Theee Rivers SC

GA:
- Formed Alliance with MLSN
- Created GA Aspire (GA2) with DPL
- Added McLean Youth Soccer ECNL
- Added Midwest United ECNL
- Added NVA ECNL

MLSN:
- Added NVA ECNL

The boys side move is so dumb.

It dilutes the NL, but also constricts the playoffs on the other side, because the new crap conference will get a team in the playoffs…

Why are they stepping on rakes!? Totally unforced error by ECNL. Makes me worry about the girls side as they chase the boys side so hard.

We’re going for 1,000. Just for the record.

And we’re not insecure….YOU’RE insecure!

Girls ECNL doesn't have the college pipeline.

The top clubs in ECNL have the college pipeline.

Leagues with the most top clubs will have more recruiters.

Yea…that’s not correct.

On the girls side, ECNL is has a near 80% market share on collegiate soccer recruits. I think PP is right on that aspect.

I also think PP is right on GA finally getting its act together from a leadership perspective, and ECNL awful leadership has been fairly exposed and called out by USSF. I am not sure that matters though, because of the aforementioned near monopoly on girls college soccer recruiting.

They can’t use Q3/4 players year round? If clubs are you should report them for cheating.

Very few areas allow this to happen. Example during California high school season ECNL league play shuts down so there is no cross over. So the trapped 8th graders do not get games and very few get tournaments as clubs pretend they do not know about the showcase role and assume most parents won’t ask either. Don’t want to piss off all the 2011 team parents.

If that is the case, how does the proposed GY for the ECNL showcase work? The younger team will not welcome you. The better way is SY for both league games and showcases.

So if the top 30 clubs left girls ecnl do you think ecnl league would be able to keep recruiters from top colleges attending events?

The answer is no.

Clubs work with and have relationships with college recruiters. Leagues facilitate that's all.

Wait for ECNL to get top GA clubs. You will be surprised.

What is your rationale?

The MLSN + GA partnership makes sense and is a reason to change from ECNL to GA.

How does changing from GA to ECNL make sense. You'd nix your club from MLSN and you'd also likely get put on a blacklist for joining GA in the future.

No idea how that would work? I didn’t post that before. I just know my daughter is in 8th grade and all but 3 girls from her ECNL team are playing high school. There is no games to play in for ECNL 2011 in California. Also the 2011d have a full roster of 18 so I’m sure the club doesn’t want to mess with them. Especially if nothing is official yet.

That’s the what came first the chicken or the egg argument. I would agree if the top 30 ECNL girls clubs left for GA then GA would become a much better product because of all the new talented players. Which would make more colleges recruit from GA.

Some clubs do not have great boys programs so it makes sense for a strong girl club to join ECNL( they usually do) ECNL has taken many of the top GA clubs year after year.
