Come to discussions prepared, having read or researched material under study; explicitly draw on that preparation by referring to evidence on the topic, text, or issue to probe and reflect on ideas under discussion

LOL. Really clear! Did the person who wrote this pass English?

There is no proof in the standards. The standards can only be proven through their use. Until they are implemented, nothing has been proven.

How many people did you say reviewed this one?

There seems to be a lot of stuff you don't care about that maybe you should care about. Because this stuff matters to a whole lot of other people. You share this planet with others you know. You're not the "decider".

You care about the things you care about (in this case, the process), and I'll care about the things I care about (in this case, the results of the process).

What's wrong with it? Could you please be specific in your criticism?

the results of the process

Did you ever get introduced to logic? You see no connection to the process and the results?

I happen to care about both because they are related. You only care about one and that will be your downfall. You don't see the big picture.

Come to discussions prepared,

for what?

I don't understand. Who is saying that there is no connection between the process and the results of the process? How could there be results of a process if there were no connection between results and process?

All I am saying is that there is an awful lot of criticism about the process and remarkably little about the results of the process. If the process was so awful, shouldn't there be plenty to criticize about the results of the process?

I think it's really quite clear that you're supposed to come to discussions prepared for the discussions. What else? Come to discussions prepared for doing laundry?

Have you not read the posts about the standards? Someone just posted a fifth grade one above that is just sad.

Please explain how to measure this.

So when you're teaching, you can't tell whether a student has prepared for a discussion by having read or researched the material? You can't tell whether the student is drawing on that preparation by referring to evidence on the topic, text, or issue to prove and reflect on ideas under discussion? If you can't, that's worrisome.

Which one is just sad, and why is it sad?

I think it's remarkable that the only posters who post specific standards are posters who don't oppose the Common Core standards. Posters who do oppose the Common Core standards seem to do oppose them in aggregate, as though the actual individual standards that make up the Common Core standards as a whole were completely irrelevant.
