Hermes Shoppers - Explain the purchase process for me.

Anonymous
I’ve spent far too much time today watching this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=slLU_qtgKKg .

I will admit I am not familiar with luxury shopping but am I understanding it correctly that one must have a personal shopper for these items. The bags are extremely limited for the Kelly and Birkin and anyone could walk in and get one or you could have purchased 100k with Hermes and not receive anything?

This is far above my price bracket but I cannot turn away and I’m intrigued now. Do you try multiple Hermes shops in hopes of procuring a bag? What is your experience?

Hoo boy, you need this thread:

https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/maintaining-a-h-relationship.156549/

What it all boils down to is:

Pick one sales assistant. Pray that person doesn’t move on.
Buy things from that sales associate, preferably from housewares, fine jewelry, or Ready to Wear (hopefully they will be things you like anyway).
After a few purchase sessions, mention you’re hoping to get a Kelly/Birkin one day.
Salesperson will eventually ask for a more precise description of what you want.
Bag offers will eventually start coming in. They may or may not have any relation to what you really want. It’s okay to say no to anything you don’t really want, but don’t say no if they end up procuring your exact request because they won’t treat any other request seriously again.

For a rough idea on how much you’ll have to lay out before getting to spend $12 grand on your dream bag, you can look here:

This is gluttony at its finest. I find it quite gross.

You know all those guys who swan off to Africa for $50k safaris? This is how their wives hunt.

It's true though. I love the chase.

If anyone can but it, it loses its luster. If they just charge a higher price point than anybody can still buy it, hence the hoops.

Plus brand loyalty. If you have one purse to sell, will you sell it to someone who already spent $20k with you this year or a random person?

This is fascinating. What’s the Sales Associate turnover like? It would be just my luck that I’d get close to the spending threshold and my SA would leave.
