private room/at restaurant for b day party

Looking for a restaurant with a large private room to rent for a surprise 50th Bday party in June

Something along the lines of Sequoia in Georgetown.

Anyone know of good places for a group of about 50-80 guests for a cocktail party
Maybe something w/ good views or some outdoor space?

I'm not sure how much you want to spend. but the top of the Hay Adams Hotel can be tented for receptions or dinners. It looks right onto The White House. It might be pricey and have a minimum food & bev. requirement. You might get a better deal on a weekday.

Others that come to mind are Restaurant Nora and The Tabard Inn. Both have private rooms for either receptions or dinners - but no view like Sequoia. The Sea Catch in Georgetown also has private rooms some of which have outdoor space. Opentable has a search feature (at least it used to) where you can search on places w/private rooms.

Old Ebbit Grill does private rooms, but no view, sorry.
