Unmatched prior to first date OLD

Anonymous
Met a guy on a dating app and we exchanged numbers. He’s texted me a few times over the last couple weeks (not a lot) and wants to meet for a drink. I went back to the app and noticed we are not matched anymore. Should I be worried? I was able to find his law firm bio, so I at least know he is not disbarred. But, this is the first time something like this has happened.

OP here, I should also clarify that he’s been texting me on my cell after unmatching.

What does unmatching have to do with having a professional license (or not)?

OP here. It just seemed sketchy to me. Was wondering others’ thoughts.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. I’m seeing a woman now who unmatched me once we exchanged numbers and our primary communication is by text and phone. We don’t need the app.

Is he in Bethesda?

Nope, not in Bethesda.

When I did OLD, I sometimes unmatched with a guy when we exchanged numbers and texted normally. The OLD site, Match, showed when the other person was online or had logged on. I didn't want him to see when I went on Match because I was definitely still chatting with other men or when I had viewed his profile again. I also didn't really want to see when he was on the OLD site.

THIS. He wants to keep his status private. He doesn't want to share too much with the site or you. This is completely fair!!

I have had women do this to me. Usually it means they are already getting busy with another dude, but they still want me on line as a backup.

This is pretty common. On Tinder, you can see where people are (well, how far away they are) so he may not want you checking on him or his whereabouts.

You don't need to be matched any more then. Some unmatch after exchanging number, some after a first date or two. I am still matched with my best friend that I met on Tinder 2 years ago. He always opens it when he lands at the airport, so I know his flight made it safely before I hear from him. LOL

Married cheaters delete their profile after getting a fish on the line to reduce risk.

I truly don’t understand how you went from noticing he unmatched to stalking his work profile and presuming he wasn’t disbarred. Please share your thought journey on that.
