Infertility Support and Discussion
| I wont be in to see an RE about this for three more weeks. Now that I've been diagnosed, should I stop TTC until I get his recommendations? Anyone else have this? I've heard talk about baby aspirin . . . . As background, I've had 3 m/c and one live birth, so maybe this explains the miscarriages? Anyone else dealing with this???? |
| I would also make an appointment with a genetic counselor. I believe you also need to take high doses of folic acid when TTC. I would wait until you get more information before TTC - hopefully you can avoid another MC. |
| Hi - I have MTHFR and had to take triple the amount of required Folic Acid, Baby Asprin and once I was pregnant - I had to take Fragmin (blood thinner shots). I also have a high platelet count so I had to do this throughout the entire pregnancy. I was lucky to find this all out after my first miscarriage - and now I have 2 live births after following these steps. |

Hello --
I have this and it related to pregnancy loss -- with subsequent success. You don't need to see genetic counselor (well, of course you can, but that's not who can assist in treatment for this), but rather a hematologist. In my heavily monitored second pregnancy (first was a late-term loss), I had to take baby aspirin, foltx (high-dose folic acid) and do blood thinners. A pain, but all went well. This can be effectively managed! With three miscarriages, this is likely the explanation. Your RE might not know a huge amount about it, as it's only recently come to light as a reproductive issue. So, definitely ask, ask, ask questions! Good luck to you. |
