Registering a utility trailer?

| I am having a utility trailer built that is pretty small (less than 2000 pounds). How do I register it? Can I register it after I pick it up? Do I need to title it and pay property tax on it? |

“Farm Use” tag from Tractor Supply. Covers occasional/utility use within 25 miles of home.
Or just register it (online) in Maine and get either 5yr or lifetime tags if you’re going to use it frequently. |
