What is going on?!?! I had a positive opk for 4 days (which is weird by itself) on days 15-18, and now on day 21 I seem to have gotten my period already?!?! This is the second cycle after a miscarriage in which I had a d&c. I got my period back just under 5 weeks after the d&c and thought that we were on our way to ttc again, but now I seem to be all messed up.
Anyone else been through this? |
| I can commiserate. I had a m/c at 12 /12 weeks in October and am only now just getting back to normal. Sorry, I know that isn't probably what you want to hear, but it really can take a while. I had very short periods, including one at 22 days, which was very disturbing. I have had a more regular cycle for about two months. I am totally disturbed too, as I was hoping to be pregnant again. My due date is at the beginning of May and I am really sad not to be pregnant again. I hope you have better luck... |
| I had an early miscarriage, and then had short luteal phases (~10 days, not sure what they were before m/c but I think longer than that) and shorter periods than usual (3 days shorter than usual after m/c, I think bc my LP was shorter). I think my periods went back to normal, because I got pregnant the 3rd month of ttc after the first period after the m/c. Good luck. I know how hard it is to want to be pregnant again and feel like your body won't cooperate bc of the m/c. |

I was going to post about this today too! I had a natural M/C that seemed to last forever. New the pregnancy was gone by Jan. 5, but then I didn't start bleeding for almost two weeks, then nothing for a week, and then another week of bleeding. My beta finally went back to zero by mid-Feb. (yes, in retrospect, I should have had a D&C much sooner. I probably would have, but for the snow, which had me skipping bloodwork).
Then, mid-march, I had a normal period, then two weeks later a positive OPK. Two weeks later, normal period. I am now on day 10 of my cycle, but got a positive OPK yesterday. I actually started testing on day 8 by mistake (meant to wait til day 9) and got a faint line, so I knew to test on day 9 and I got a strong positive both midday and late afternoon. I am usually dead on 27-28 days (exactly 2 wks after a + OPK). I have never had a 23 day cycle, but if all works out, that seems to be where this is going if my luteal phase is as normal (13-14 days). Could this be? I had a miscarriage a few years back, and I don't remember such a screwy cycle, but then again, the m/c wasn't nearly as screwy then as it is now. I am soooo confused. DH and I didn't BD last month, to my dismay, because of issues for me at work, and the potential of changing jobs. I am way too old not to be trying every month. I actually got DH to Bd last night, but just that morning I had mentioned I was expecting to ovulate next week and that we need to talk about our plans so we don't end up skipping the bd. Should I try to BD again tonight? |

OP again. Hmmm, now I really don't know what's going on. So I posted the original message this morning, but when I went to change my tampon at lunchtime (sorry TMI), it was basically empty, just a bit of brown here and there. There's been nothing since.
Everything I read says implantation bleeding is not bright red, which this was. On the other hand, timing-wise, it "could" be it. Or maybe my body is just a complete wreck right now. |
| 13:43 here. DH signed on to keep trying, except if I ovulated early, we didn't have a great run at the opportunity this month. If the OPK was positive on Wednesday, should I try tonight, two days later? We didn't do anything yesterday. |
| to PP - can't hurt to try. opk can be up to 72 hours before ovulation right? |
