Gluten free bakery

Happy Tart is my go to place - tons of selections/options everyday, no question of what’s gluten free and what isn’t since they entire store is gluten free, and really good (can’t tell it’s gluten free). Are there other great option in the area?

Red Bandana on Wisconsin in Bethesda. All certified gluten free.

Rise Bakery in Adams Morgan is wonderful.

I appreciate all gluten free bakeries, I would not rate Rise among my favorites. Haven’t tried Red Bandana. Any others to try?

Didn't like Rise when I tried a few years ago. The best gluten-free restaurant I've tried was in Santa Barbara, CA. It's called Lilac Patesserie and they ship.

Lillet Cafe in Bethesda.

Happy Tart has a better selection, especially for cakes and other sweet options, than Rise. But, I find them to be a total pain in the ass to order from and get help from (even worse now that you can't go in).

Rise has good sandwiches and cookies and they are much nicer and easier to order from for parties and big gatherings.

If you want to take a trip, this cafe in Baltimore is AMAZING. Great Indian themed food, really good and creative cupcakes, and lovely lovely owners: http://www.sweet27.com/

If you happen to be in Lockport, NY (near Buffalo) there is a shockingly good (given what you find there otherwise) bakery/restaurant called Kith and Kin.

Out of the Bubble Bakery in Springfield, especially if there are other allergies. Her gluten-free selection are mostly also dairy- and egg-free - the gluten-free brownies do contain eggs. Amazing cupcakes, cakes, and pies.

I’m a big fan of the df/gf cupcakes at Sweetz in Leesburg. They don’t have much gf, and it’s a normal bakery - but those gf cupcakes are the best around.

Red Bandana is much better than Rise, in my opinion.

I’ve purchased a few thinks from Red Bandana and did not think they were good. Sweet Crimes in Capitol Hill is amazing. Their website says they are not open yet, but they are. https://sweetcrimes.com/
