Day Cares in Potomac near 270 and Montrose?

We are moving to the Potomac Woods neighborhood, MD, near Montrose Ave (zip 20854). Can anybody recommend good day care centers in the area besides St. James and Little Acorns (where we are already wait-listed)? Thanks a lot in advance! |

| Rock Spring Children's Center is 1 exit south of Montrose just off 270. |

St. James is wonderful! If a spot opens up grab it.

| I live in Potomac Woods and go to White Flint Children's House. It is a montessori school. You could also look at Potomac Nursery school. It is right by the neighborhood. Not sure the age of your child. Geneva is very close also. |

| Many thanks for the suggestions. The problem for us with places like Geneva or Rock Spring is their hours (we need care till 6:30 pm and they close at 6 pm). But I am sure they are wonderful centers. Somebody recommended that we consider Child Development Center, the day care at Cold Spring Elementary. Can any of you share thoughts/experiences about it? Thanks again for your help. |

White Flint Children's House is open until 6:30.
Are you talking about Academy at cold spring? It has a good reputation. |

| If I am not mistaken, you can pay extra to have your child stay until 6:30 at Rock Spring - you should ask about that. |

I agree, if St. James opens up take it, we have our 17 month old there and love it. I would keep following up wtih St. James if you are interested in sending your child there, i called a lot to make sure we were on their radar

| What is the price of St. James for a 4 mth old. The website does not list any prices for the school |

Call and ask to be sure...(we aren't there anymore b/c we moved) but last I heard $1,795.... I do recall they make an effort to keep fees slightly lower than other programs in the area. |

Young infants rate for St. James will be $1,810 effective July 1, 2010. They just released their rates for next year. The actual site for St. James is http://stjameschildrensschool.com/?page_id=18, but this still has the old rates posted under the "tuition" tab.
St. James offers PT options -- for young infants it will be $1220 for MWF and $850 for T,Th. |
