Non-traditional Thanksgiving Food

Are we the only one who don’t have turkey for Thanksgiving? My family hates turkey so we end up having rack of lamb. Anyone else have something different?

We don’t like turkey either so we do steaks. We also nix the traditional sides and make steakhouse sides. It’s so much easier and in our opinion more delicious.

My colleague lives in Tx. He smoked a turkey last weekend. I asked him since turkey day was coming. He said his family has steak and lobster on turkey day. Both a smoked turkey and steak and lobster sound delicious.

I wouldve enjoy coming to your place for dinner.

Social pressure: turkey shame, stuffing shamed if your stuffing is not breadlike, gravy shamed if it is too watery or thick, wrong cheese on the mac, if you go rogue on Thanksgiving. No pies! Gasp.

Not weird. I know a family that eats ribs and Swedish meatballs every Thanksgiving. We usually had ham, meatballs and turkey at our big family get togethers.

I’m pretty convinced that if people tried turkey en cocotte, they’d like turkey.

Don't you know any vegetarians/vegans? What do you think we're doing?
