Doctoring store bought mashed potatoes

Please help me doctor the store bought mashed potatoes. What should I add and in what quantity to make them taste good?

A few tablespoons of sour cream
Salt to taste (truffle salt?)
Sprinkle with fresh chives and / or bacon bits

I add in cream cheese (the whipped kind bc it easier to mix) - chive flavored whipped cream cheese is my go-to.

Buy mashed potatoes from Wegmans and you won’t have to do anything to them.

Usually they are pretty damn good on their own. I'd taste them before you do anything

I heat up some cream and butter and then heat ‘em up and mix it in.

This, plus some seasoning. Salt, pepper, seasoned salt, etc.

Nothing. They probably already have way too much butter and salt already

All of this. But make sure you taste for seasoning.

Boursin would also be an easy add. I think it would melt easy.

Mashed potatoes are the easiest thing on the menu to make. Peel, boil, mash. Toss and make new.

“Too much butter” is like “too much money.” Rarely found in nature.

They don’t want to do that. Maybe they have arthritis. Maybe their stove is on the fritz.
