Why don’t they sell baking soda and baking powder in tiny amounts like yeast

So people who don’t bake often will know it’s fresh. I’d like to have an option to buy a container with 10 small packets so I can open one at a time.

Because unlike yeast it’s not a living organism that depends on freshness for efficacy.

Because, baking soda is good for a lot of other things. You can clean with it if it gets stale.

And Baking powder usually comes in a container that can be resealed and stays good for quite a while.

also, it costs almost nothing. baking soda will last a long time. not sure about baking powder, but it lasts pretty long, too.

Yeast expires really quickly. Baking soda/powder do not.

It’s like 99 cents a box, isn’t it? It would not make financial sense to sell in smaller quantities. Buy it, use what you need then put the box in the fridge to absorb odors or use it to clean.
