Bringing thanksgiving appetizer 1 hour away- what should I cook?

Anonymous
I’ve been assigned to bring an appetizer. Will be at my SIL’s house 1 hour away. I assume that the stove and oven will be occupied so I will only have the microwave to reheat something. What should I bring? Recipes and ideas please!

I'm just tossing this out at random. Endures with goat cheese and oranges. They do a version of this at Jaleo. You can customize it just about however you want (bacon, walnuts, toasted almonds). Easy no heating required.

Not really innovative, but veggies and hummus is always good for those who want a healthy appetizer. You could add a different kind of dip as well.

Cheese platter w/ crackers and grapes. Keep it simple as nobody wants to fill up on apps.

I really like cream cheese with red pepper jelly on top. Then you do crackers and a veggie platter surrounding it.

Make one of those pretty decorative charcuterie boards.

Doesn't have to be this elaborate but this is the idea. Millions of recipes and suggestions all over the internet.

I agree with previous posters. A cheeseboard is perfect because the cheese needs to come to room temperature for serving and it can do that on your drive.

This. And put it on endives so it looks fancy.

Smoked salmon, sliced cucumbers, fresh dill, and a herbed cream cheese spread with crackers or sliced French bread. Assemble a few (bread, cream cheese, cucumber, piece of salmon, spring off dill) to give people the idea and just arrange a spread with the rest for people to make their own.

Odd tip, but it’s surprisingly good with fresh pineapple spears.

we always have a shrimp ring at thanksgiving and it always gets eaten.

also the cream cheese with a sauce poured over it is a pretty big hit.

Brie wheel with apricot jam, (warm it up upon arrival) serve with sliced french bread or crackers.
