Parents and brothers will be arriving at different times from afternoon to evening on 12/23. Looking for something not labor intensive and low risk of leftovers since I’ll be doing big meals and prep over the next few days and have a small-ish fridge. I’d like to do something other than frozen apps.
My first thought is flatbreads and a salad or veggies. I’ve done things like fajitas other non-holiday times but that usually results in more work and leftovers than anticipated. Thanks! |
In such situations, I usually do a pot of soup of some kind. It’s ok on the stove for a long time and/or reheated. Better yet, use a crock pot and free up your cooktop.
Crockpots are perfect for this. Soup or chili. Add a vegetable tray, cheese tray and rolls.
Chili in the crockpot for sure .
Chili or French dip
My grandmother keeps a pot of soup on the stove but it’s high risk of leftovers
