Is it appropriate to blow your nose at a table in a restaurant?
Yes or no and what is your background? Race, age? Income ? |
No. I might blot my nose surreptitiously, but if I had to blow my nose, I’d excuse myself.
It’s fine for a small child in a kid-focused restaurant though. |
+1 |
This is about adults. Yuck-op |
Yeah, it’s vulgar and disgusting. But I do it anyway. |
Race? Income? This is simple common decency that knows no racial or income boundaries - of course you don't blow your nose at the table whether it be at home our at a restaurant. So nasty. |
I would try to avoid it. At most a surreptitious wipe. |
East Asian by background and my family and I think it's gross.
SO is white and he and his family (30s to 90s in age) are constantly blowing these noses after dinner while people are still eating. |
I'm sorry but isn't slurping part of your dinner culture? |
It’s a natural thing - it’s not gross |
Hate it. |
Are you my DW?
This is literally the #1 reason why we can't eat out. She can hear a nose blow from across a crowded room. Her dad used to blow his nose after every meal. I think she has nose blow PTSD. That said, she's right. There's a place for everything and nose blowing belongs in the bathroom. |
No. Gross. |
Acceptable to me but I don’t do it because I know people think it’s gross. |
No. You are supposed to excuse yourself and go to the restroom. |
