My son has been in two classrooms this year with two main teachers each (so he's had four teachers total). However, the program also has a director and support staff and classroom aides, all of whom interact with him. I'm planning to give a mug with cash gift (advice on how much?) to each of his four main teachers, but who else should I be gifting specifically? I'm planning to also bring in holiday treats of some sort for all of the staff. |
I do scratch offs and candy for support staff, $50 for teachers, and $10-20 for director/assistant. I also only gift the teachers that my child currently has, as I usually give a gift to the previous teachers when my kid transitions to the next room. |
$25 plus a small gift for teachers; $10 for assistants. |
Our daycare does one collection and divides the funds among all of of staff for the holidays (makes it easier, as some kids have had multiple teachers, others just one).
We give one month's tuition. |
Wow that’s great! How much is tuition? Mine is 2.5K and I can’t afford to give that much. Our daycare also collects for all and divides and the room parent gave examples of $100-$150 and along with how much bonus per teacher/staff that would translate to if all families gave that much. |
$100 for each current teacher. My kid switched rooms in August. I briefly thought about doing $50 for each teacher from both rooms, but my favorite teacher from the old room just announced she is leaving next week so, I’m skipping that idea |
You’re supposed to do a weeks tuition. So divide that by 4 and give it to each teacher. $50-$100 each |
Says who? There are no hard and fast rules on this. We have given about $1K the past couple of years, split between individual teacher gifts and the central bonus pool. Some give less and some give more. People should give what they are comfortable giving and able to afford. |
I would not do this. I personally don't gamble and would hate to ve given money-lender this. Just give cash or gift cards. |
Same. Plus a lot of religions frown on gambling. |
Sorry, can't type on phone - money already spent. Scratchers and lotto tickets can nd usually do result in absolutely no actual money. |
