What comes after PnP for sleep while traveling?

Anonymous
My 19 month old is very tall and barely fits in PnP. She is still so young I can’t see her sleeping in a regular bed while traveling and sue won’t sleep in the bed w us. Any suggestions for what comes next while traveling? TIA!

Regalo Portable Cot

Bed with rails. If the hotel doesn’t have them, you can bring them.

Inflatable bed rails that go under the fitted sheet.

We had portable bedrooms, or hotels often have them too. At preschool I switched to an inflatable sleeping bed that had a built in sleeping bag. I loved that thing.

You can also just roll up some bath towels

Your kids don’t laugh and roll off the cot in a bid to avoid sleep? Just me? Ok then 😄

We rent a full size crib. My 2 yr old can climb out of the pack n play. We tried putting her in bed w us abs she wouldn’t go to sleep. Tried an inflatable mattress and she kept laughing and running away

2 was the toughest age for this. We kept my tall kids in PnP until it was laughable. They didn’t mind being smushed! But after age 2, we got an inflatable toddler mattress. It’s actually bigger than a crib mattress and smaller than a twin. I put towels or something along the sides (under the sheet) to keep them from rolling off. We can still use it and my oldest is 7 now.

If you have the option for a crib though, I’d do that.

We did a twin size air mattress on the floor near our bed for a couple of years.

Yes this is what we have used from 2-5 and it works great. Though my younger 2.5 year old still sleeps in the guava lotus travel crib without problem as well.

+1

Mine nap on a cot at daycare, so they're used to sleeping on one.

The Guava Lotus is a bit bigger than a pack n play and my 38 inch tall 2 year old still fits. I'm sure your 19 month old would fit. Otherwise a Kidco Travel bed/tent would work, just make sure to get the full size.

lol my 3.5yo still sleeps in a PnP when we are away. She calls it her "cosy cave" and snuggles up and sleeps all night so we figure if it's not broke...

Though friends think we are nuts, but sleep trumps their opinions lol
