| DD has applied to 4 so far (1 restrictive EA and 3 state schools EA), with 2 more state school EA to go in during November and likely another 3-6 privates in January. |

Wish my kid had gotten the memo that applying RD is over and everyone is doing a ton early apps.
Though most of the schools she considered don’t have EA. How did people find so many EA places?? |

| 7, had planned on 9 but ran out of stream. Only had one that only required Common App Essays (Maryland) and Multiple Honors supplements. Just too much he said. One is actually not due until January so maybe he will catch a second wind and do 8. I think the list is good, maybe reach heavy but hard not to when you stats are at 75%, but no Ivys or top 20 -- well one around 20ish, huge reach. |

Probably a total of 10-12; 1 RD (reach) plus 7 EA; probably 2-4 more depending on what DC hears back.
PP, many (most?) public schools have EA. A LOT of kids are applying to more of these than they would have in prior years because of the unpredictability...I think the idea is that they will: 1) know earlier of whether they are in to at least a few schools and can have some stress relief; and 2) can feel (somewhat) confident that they will have some choice once the dust settles. A lot of kids last year had only one "safety" and ended up there because none of their other schools worked out. |

| Stanford REA, all 9 UC’s, 3 Cal States, already in at School of Mines. Dependíng on what happens on Dec 15, there may be more supplemental essays written to 3 Ivies and some Catholic Universities. |
