| My 20+ year old blender that I've had since college finally died (RIP Osterizer), so we decided to splurge on a Vitamix. So far we've just made a variety of smoothies. What are your favorite things to make with your Vitamix? Any go to recipes? Links? Tell me how to make the most of this $$$$$ thing!! |
| Blend stuff. What did you do with your blender before? |
| mix your vitas |
| Fresh salsa (recipe in the little book/pamphlet that comes with the blender is good). |
| You can blend all sorts of things. Smoothies, salad dressings, and marinades are my favorites. I also bought the dry goods container so I grind my coffee in there as well. |
| We primarily use ours for smoothies, margaritas, and nut butters, though I’ve also made some great gazpacho and other soups. The thing I love about it is it’s power and longevity. It can handle ice and the toughest ingredients with no problem day after day. I have three smoothie-loving kids, and ours has made 15 or so smoothies a week for 10 years with no sign of slowing down. |
| It's a blender, OP. |
It is more. I can make soups using this with a texture I can’t replicate any other way. |
So share some links or recipes! Not OP but I’m having oral surgery in a couple of weeks and need some soup suggestions |
Obviously, but the Vitamix can do a lot more than my older blender did. |
It is a lot more powerful than my old blender, PP, and can do a lot more, which is why I'm asking. Thanks for your incredibly helpful reply!!!

Do you have any specific recipes that you really like? |
| Use it a few times and then put it in the basement to pull out occasionally. |

It makes great blended soups. Really silky restaurant texture.
Start with this recipe: https://www.seriouseats.com/15-minute-creamy-tomato-soup-vegan-recipe I also like it for making tikka masala sauce that I can in tomato season, smoothies, nut milks, peanut sauce for cold peanut noodles...it's a great blender. |
Didn’t your Vitamix come with a recipe book? Mine did. And can’t you Google? |
