im home child care in NW DC with one spot opened

Anonymous
I have a full or part time spot available in my in-home child care. We provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children of all ages, where your child will receive the ideal blend of personal attention and an opportunity to socialize with similar-aged children. We have been caring for children for over ten years, and will be happy to share many references. I have my degree in early childhood education and am a former lead pre-school teacher. please feel free to either call me at 202-244-1607 or email me at tdextraze@hotmail.com for more details.

Thanks,
Tara

$500 a week for in-home care? Seems a bit steep. I can get a nanny or at least a very qualified nanny share for the same amount (and potentially not have to deal with drop off and pick-up).

What makes you stand out?

I am not the OP, but I know that in certain areas rates are higher because of their location. That is an expensive area so naturally the rate would be higher. Their are places in Capitol Hill with similar rates.

I actually charge $425 a week. There are several factors that determine our price. First our prices are very competitive with other childcare in this area. Second there is myself, who has a degree in ECD, was a former lead preschool teacher, and over ten years of experience working with children of all ages. My assistant who has been working with children
for over 20 years is also very qualified. Are ratios are 2 adults to 5 children where legally I could only have one adult to five children. I also feel our setting is very beneficial to children because while they are getting lots
of one on one attention they are also learning socialization skills from their peers that the may not get from a nanny. I hope that clarifies a little of what I provide.
