Play based preschools in or around Vienna with extended day hours?

Anonymous
I am hoping to find a play-based preschool for my son with hours beyond noon, and am striking out. We're not interested in Montessori. Any recommendations in the area?

Thanks in advance.

Look at daycare centers. Extended hours is daycare.

Interesting. When I say "extended day," I mean until 2 or so, not 5 or 6. Extended day option is typical for preschools in NWDC, I'm surprised it's different out here.

I'm assuming you've already checked out Hunter Mill Country Day School? I think they usually have a waitlist though.

Yes, got ourselves on that waitlist and am looking for anything else similar. Maybe we need to look further out, fairfax, oakton, Reston. Thanks for the reply!

Yes and sometimes a preschool with extended hours works for parents who WOH, sometimes they don't. Most publish their hours and calendars online, so each family can figure out what works for them. Sorry you don't like your child being around children of women who WOH.

Huh?

Calm down. Reread. Lose the chip. My kid is in daycare and both my wife and I work out of the house.

I live in Vienna and had a terrible time finding a preschool (of any philosophy) that I liked and that could accommodate my work + commute hours. The options are not great. I ended up putting my child in a daycare near my work, which was not ideal either but I could reliable pick up by closing time.

Other than Montessoris, you could look at Appletree II on Nutley, Merritt Academy, A Child's Place, and Carousel.

Vienna Baptist preschool might work for you.

Could you do a co-op? There’s a co op on the grounds of Emmaus in Vienna/Maple Ave. I don’t think it is affiliated with the church.

This is OP, and I'm thinking we might just keep him in his current school in bethesda. Thanks for the suggestions.
