bright horizons in bethesda?

Anonymous
received a message offering our 10-month old childcare starting in january. i know the waitlist is long because i put a request in at least 6+ months ago.

conflicted because we have been thinking about going the nanny route with COVID, but now am unsure.

Does anyone have any opinions on Bright Horizons in Bethesda, or just in general? Thanks in advance.

Bright Horizons is notoriously overpriced. I am in Bethesda too.

Great if you can afford it.

We've had our daughter at both. We started at Bright Horizons when she was about 10 months and then switched to the Shoe BCC when she was 15 months.

Both were generally good. BH had good COVID protocols when we were there, but it's more of a corporate feel and the director isn't super customer service oriented. It felt standard.

The Shoe feels more like a family run organization and the Director is quite vigilant about COVID protocols. Almost too good in that they are so strict about when students have any symptoms of illness that sometimes we spend more time out of daycare than in it. That said, our daughter seems to be happy. Everyone knows her.

I haven't had a nanny so no idea about that but I will say depending on your child's age, the socialization they get at daycare is really nice.
