Ordering prepared foods for Thanksgiving - when to pick up?

Super basic question - we are planning to get a pre-cooked turkey dinner this year (like from Balducci's or Whole Foods). Want to place the order soon. Do people usually pick it up the day before or day of Thanksgiving? Does it matter?

We pick up on Wednesday AM. Then, if there is a problem, we have some time to fix it. And, it's not too soon that the food will be sitting around a while.

The place you’ll order from will give you their pick up time options. You’ll have to consider your own schedule. I’ve seen some really long lines for pick ups, so factor that possibility in.

I go for the earliest pick-up option on Wednesday in an effort to avoid lines and not have to leave the house on Thursday.

Wednesday, but make sure you have room in the refrigerator. Or get ice for a cooler and keep it outside if it’s cool enough.
