DC is a HS senior this year. We are behind on the college "decision" process, which was due a lot to our work schedules during the pandemic. We haven't been to any campuses for in-person visits. DC applied to 7 schools EA. One of them is having an Open House in the next couple of weeks. Does it make sense to do the Open House and also combine it with a self-guided tour on the same date? It would have to be a self-guided tour because guided tours aren't scheduled for that date.
Thanks. |
| Sure, why not? Also stop and people watch. If allowed, get lunch in the dining hall. Generally hang out to try to get the vibe. If there's an open house hosted by admissions, surely you'll speak with someone at some point. |
| We don't really plan to do a lot of visiting until DC gets some acceptances. I wouldn't say you're that far behind. |

I would go if it’s not too difficult to attend. I also don’t think you’re that behind - my DC (also a senior) has only visited 2 schools. The rest we will do when acceptances are in.
We have been interested to look at street views on google maps - it’s not a substitute for visiting but my kid felt it was helpful. |
