Wide ruled vs. College ruled paper?

Is there a certain grade or age where a kid should switch from wide rules to college ruled? I just always preferred college ruled myself and don't even remember using wide ruled.

I don’t think teachers care anymore about this. My teens all prefer college rules.

I always preferred wide ruled even in college. I don't like my notes and writing to be all cramped together.

I have 1 that likes wide and one that likes college. Personal preference. So little is tunred in on paper that I do not think teachers have policies.

I prefer college-ruled for myself. My son's hs doesn't care what he brings, because most of his classes are online.

Personal preference. I will say that my son has some wide ruled notebooks and I overheard some friends ribbing him on about it, so there's that.

Personal preference — I happen to prefer gridded paper for handwritten notes.

In Europe we have notebooks that are somewhere between wide ruled and college ruled. When I use US college ruled, I skip a line. I do prefer wide rule, so I don't have waste all this space.
Should be personal choice. My letters are just too big for college ruled.

When schools here ask for regular or standard rules, does that mean college ruled?
