Infants, Toddlers, & Preschoolers
| Since giving birth my breast size have quadrupled. I'm breastfeeding and will not stop just for this reason but I wanted to know when do breast go back to pre-pregnancy. Or does it? Should I chuck my old clothes out the window? or just wait until my DD is 1 and then wait to see my breast get back to human scale. This applies to the nipples as well. All the pulling tuggging has made them look quite abnormal. Do I just need to learn to live with them like this and wear them as badge of motherhood? |
| Don't worry, mine returned to pre-pregnancy size as soon as I stopped BF...so don't throw out all of your old underwear. That said, I am petite and (sadly!) didn't have large breasts to start with (although like you they seemed to quadruple while BFing) - dont know if that is a factor. |
| I, too, am petite. I went from a size B cup to a size D cup, but the boobs seemed to settle down a bit after a few months, but did not return all the way to the B cup until a year or so later. |
| At 13 months PP, I'm finally down to 2 feedings per day and mine have just gotten back to my pre-pregnancy size. I think pretty much everyone does eventually. |
| Mine never went all the way back down (except south). I don't mind the bigger part, the southern migration I can do without. |
I think mine got smaller! Used to be A/B, went to C with all three kids, finished BF in Jan and now down to a saggy A if you can call them that. *sigh* Thank goodness for padded bras! But like anything, every woman is different. My mom got smaller, my aunt got and stayed much larger. But I would say chances are you'll return to about the same.
|
| Oh yes. I forgot about the saggy, gravity part. That too. Nobody warned me that happened so soon. |
|
I stayed large. HATE it and hope it doesn't happen to you too.
|
| I started as a C, went to a DD (maybe even bigger!!!). After 6-8 months, I was down to about a D or a small DD and then after weaning, back down to normal. I swear that my boobs are smaller, but I think it is just because I got used to how huge they got!!! I fit into my old bras, so I am sure they are the same. They are definitely "softer". |
Mine are def smaller ...was a B cup pre preg now I'm an A (
|
| Mine went back after a stopped nursing but I don't think they're quite the same, maybe a little smaller, same bra size, though. (I was already a bit saggy because of some weight loss in my early thirties, so that seems the same, maybe a little worse...) |
| Save all your clothes til you wean, you never know. I went from 38D to like 38ZZZZZZ when my milk came in (ha) then settled down to 38DDD after a month or so, and now 6 months after weaning am 36DD. Go figure. But most of my old clothes fit again now. |

Every mom is different so factor in skin elasticity too - how much your boobs stretched to accommodate the milk and how much milk your boobs held.
Speaking of huge boobs - I saw a commercial that Christina Aguliara was going to be on the Ellen Degenerate Show and the clip they aired showed Christina with HUGE boobs - she must have gotten clogged pores from being that engorged for so long not to mention will probably have saggy boobies later on. |

*Sigh* I had the GREATEST perky B/C boobs before baby (seriously! my friends hated me b/c I was 39).
Now I have the SAGGIEST B/C boobs post baby. Oh well. He was worth it. The monster left stretch marks and an extra 20 too. My more bikini for me..... |
| Sorry - meant to add that that was after 10 mos of nursing. We are done now and I think my boobs have settled in and and are going to stay where they are. |
