| I notice whole Urbana fan send home last night at Quince Orchard home soccer game. Do we know why? |
| I am a coach in the county and I heard there was OVERT DISRESPECT from fans to referees. I loved hearing the action taken!!!! |
Which fans were disrespectful? QO or Urbana? |
| During a preseason scrimmage my kid's soccer team played at Urbana and their fans were really terrible- shouting personal insults at our players, cursing loudly at them. It was a disgrace. If it was the same kids, I hope they've been disciplined between that day in September and this week! |
Urbana, that's why they were sent home. |
| Frederick County fans come to Montgomery County with a huge chip and us against you mentally. Thus the poor sportsmanship when Urbana come here to play. Most of them are just poorly educated morons. |
| Why is a Montgomery county school playing a different county? |
There are playoffs going on now for all fall sports. Once they move past the county level they make it to regionals and possibly states. |

I am an MCPS administrator and I was at the game. There were 3-4 parents on the Urbana side who were loudly critiquing the officials calls for most of the game. At no point did I hear any profanity nor did I hear any epithets or slurs directed at any of the players. Those 3-4 parents were obnoxious, but, Quite frankly, it was pretty mild, garden variety fan behavior.
The officials badly overreacted. They chastised the Urbana side eight minutes into the game. Five minutes into the second half, a fan made another (loud comment) criticizing the officials. At that point, the head official stopped okay and asked who said it. No one came forward, so he declared that the entire side of fans (50-75) had to go. The officials greatly exacerbated this situation. |
I wonder if the person who wrote this incredible generalization would have said the same thing if it were about a school from Prince Georges County? By the way, if you are going to malign an entire county as “poorly educated morons,” you may at least want to proofread your post. |
But if there had been a history of this all season, and it started up right away in this game, they knew where it was going. It was cumulative, perhaps? |
No - even during the regular season in other sports, Urbana plays some MoCo high schools. |
|
Urbana embodies the nuveau riche, people who moved out to Frederick county but think they are above “real” Frederick.
But the fact they can’t even behave for a girl’s soccer game, tells us all we need to know. Enjoy your cookie cutter track homes, and thanks for coming to visit Moco! |
You know that there were some MoCo students from Sherwood, I think it was, who yelled some pretty horrible things to the Einstein HS female volleyball/soccer team, right? I don't think this type of behavior is exclusive to Frederick county. -MCPS parent. |
Er. People in Urbana aren't "nouveau riche" (or indeed particularly "riche") at all, and also it's "tract" homes - which look very similar to the "cookie cutter tract homes" in Clarksburg. If you're going to hate on a group of people, please do so accurately. |
