I’m desperate. DD takes the Patriot generic 36 mg. Walgreens used to order it for us but they say they can only get Camber because it’s on backorder. I’ve tried numerous pharmacies looking for existing stock. Anybody have any luck in the last few days finding it? I’m so desperate I will drive anywhere within an hour of Bethesda.
I’m thinking it might be time to switch meds. |
| Harris Teeter pharmacy (VA) ordered Concerta 36 mg Patriot for me this week - got it the next day. Do you have a HT near you? |
| Yes! I tried to call them a few times yesterday and today and couldn’t get through but it sounds like it’s worth the trip. |
I just left HT pharmacy (Potomac) and they don’t have it and said they can’t order it. |
| If you don’t need it quite as long acting metadate CD is very very similar |
| I had to give up and switch meds because it became too hard to find on a consistent basis. |
| I’m the OP. I found out I can fill through mail order (ExpressScripts) so we’re going to try that. I called Patriot and they told me there’s no shortage, pharmacies are choosing not to order. |
| Concerta is one of the meds we are considering for our son. First choice is Vyvanse. What is the patriot formula? |
Patriot uses the same OROS delivery system as the brand. The other generics don’t. This delivery system makes all the difference for many people. |

FWIW, for us, doctor had to specify "Patriot only" in the prescription. Otherwise we'd get Camber, which didn't work for my kid either. Total nightmare. Esp since you have to wait the 90 days if you get a 3 month supply before you can reorder -- cuz it's a regulated medication class.
On our health insurance plan, both Camber and Patriot are considered generics, but Patriot was still more expensive than Camber, perhaps why pharmacies went for Camber. Best wishes in your search. |
