Does APS have funds to provide schools with a backup supply of masks for kids? One APS elementary school PTA is doing a collection/drive for masks for students. While admirable, it seems APS must have funds for this given it’s part one of the “prevention strategies.” |
We spent all of our money on the 2nd Chief Manager Supervisor of Equity |
That’s weird. I’m an APS teacher and we have plenty of backup masks at our school and we give them freely. |
This. We have at least one Rubbermaid tote of them. I’m in a SA school. OP are you at Abingdon by any chance? |
Email Zachary.pope@apsva.us and ask what’s up. He’s responsive |
+1. Same at our school. Think it’s standard. |
Yes, Abingdon. We’re now at a different APS school, but I’m still on an email list and thought this was really odd that they don’t have a sufficient supply. |
My SA school has lots of adult masks but we haven’t had kid size masks since the first week of school. |
Oh come on, really? Masks are everywhere and they cost a few dollars. Can we please expect more from parents? And I know everyone is too poor to afford one. No they aren't. They are given out for free in so many places they can walk into any retail store and say oh I forgot a mask can I grab one and walk back out. |
This. FFS |
Why? I hope masks are a thing of the past now that any APS kid can get vaccinated. |
Not everyone has the money to buy masks and kids forget them. Whats the big deal to donate a box of masks off Amazon. |
Stop. Just stop. Yes they do have the money to buy one. And yes we should expect parents to pay for them. And haven’t you been crying for the past almost 2 years that poor people are the most vulnerable and most worried so if that was true what are you saying their parents don’t care enough to buy them a mask? They cost $1 or if the ask around they will get one for free. I literally can not take anymore of this nonsense. Liberals love their poors! How would they show what awesome do gooders they are without them. Queue the “we must have a mask drive for the poor kids!” Them plenty of social media posts showing them and their kids buying masks for the poor kids 🙄 |
. Because all the schools have a plethora already. |
apparently not |
