Beth Barts details threats

She definitely erred with her participation in the Facebook group. But she wasn’t wrong about her critics, with their agitation about phantom menaces like CRT and trans children.

These people who show up at school board meetings (but have probably never attended a PTA meeting in their lives) are vile human beings. The Biden administration is completely right to ask the FBI to investigate them and charge them with domestic terrorism. It’s patently obvious the Loudoun sheriff, a right-winger himself, won’t discharge his duties.

The way these groups treated her is deplorable. You can disagree with her positions or even how she goes about doing her job but threatening her and her kids is beyond. And it sends a very disturbing message to anyone who would even consider running for public office or serving on a school board: don’t do so unless you’re comfortable with unhinged people targeting your children and yourself. These people are disgusting.

This is exactly the point, I think.

Completely agree.

It of course is but it’s no way for society to function. At what point is it terrorism if nobody can serve on a damn school board without death threats?

Can we FOIA the emails sent to her? Maybe get forensic work done on the IP addresses to dox the people who made the threats?

No, but that’s something Beth would do, though.

But the converse is that no one can disagree with their positions or the way they go about doing their jobs without someone lumped them in with those making vile threats, which leaves these people without any accountability. It’s almost as if they welcome the crazies because it gets them off the hook from their having to address legitimate criticisms.

NO one should get death threats. Under any circumstances.

But, if you think these threats are limited to School Board members, I'm pretty sure you are mistaken. If you think the threats are only against left liberals, you are also very mistaken.

It doesn't take the FBI to investigate death threats. If it does rise to that level, request for help should come from law enforcement --not the NSBA.

And, for Beth Barts, no one deserves death threats, but making an enemies list of people who disagree with you is despicable. Does it rise to the level of death threats? Of course not.

The School Board is arrogant, but I doubt it is the parents at the meetings who are giving them death threats. If they are, they should be arrested and charged. I have not yet watched the posted link, but several of the listed "offenses" on that NSBA letter have been challenged.

But, it is pretty troubling when a SB plays a part in covering up a rape. And, arresting a dad whose daughter was the victim because he wanted to speak up (remember, this was the night that the superintendent had "told" the SB that there were no reported assaults in the bathrooms.) The Superintendent knew and the School Board knew.

Beth Barts should not be getting death threats--but she is no heroine. And, honestly, I wonder if they are true.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Barts is being sued for her actions. That may be why she resigned.

Blah blah. A whole lot of words to excuse this.

She is not the least but trust worthy and no one should be sticking up for her.

I doubt her death threat claims but wouldn’t doubt if she might have thought of sending similar to people she didn’t like.

I doubt that so we should do it for her. I will draft the FOIAs tomorrow. It’s time these people are held accountable for terrorizing LCPS officials and the vast majority of parents who support them.
