CNY Fertility

Those who have opted for CNY while living in DC/NoVA,
- how did you manage the local monitoring?
- how much did the meds cost? Did they have pocket-friendly pharmacies to suggest?
- how was the travel? How frequently did you travel and how much did you end up spending on travel?
- how much did you end up spending as compared to say, $12k-$16k for the local clinics here?
- any financing resources out there? We're doing self-pay and could use some help.
- is CNY worth it, weighing in the logistics of travel and the $$ you save, and your overall experience?

Thanks for sharing!

Is it actually any cheaper? They list their prices -- it seems higher than what I paid for at CFA for egg freezing or IUI (haven't done IVF left). I'm from one of the towns where there's a CNY location and can easily go stay in my parent's house for this but it doesn't seem like much of a cost savings and would rather go to a Dr I trust. There is so much uncertainty in the process that makes it hard to plan anyway. Had a miscarriage after last IUI cycle that led to 2+ months of monitoring and trying to rule out an ectopic and need or a d & c-- would've been a pain in the butt to have to travel for that too and wouldn't want that to be just done at an ultrasound location.

CNY patient (single, so far have done 2 ERs and froze embryos with donor sperm)

I would suggest joining the CNY DC area FB page, it is super helpful to find local monitoring places and get meds.

The first ER, I used hotel points and stayed in Syracuse for 3 weeks, the second I did monitoring locally at my OB.

I spent about $500 total for monitoring (insurance covered some), 2K for meds for each round, 4k for the ER and 1K for donor sperm for each round. If you do a fresh transfer it is included, but I will pay $700 plu monitoring for my FET.

They are not the best at communication and if you want a consult I think they are scheduling 4 months out at this point. But... I couldnt have afforded this other wise. Good luck!
